The hexagonal summerhouse sits on a deep hexagonal concrete base which supports a tongued and grooved wooden floor on heavy wooden bearers.

The walls of the hexagonal summerhouse are constructed of Northern European Redwood to B.S 1186 part 1 from a managed sustainable wood source. The timber is factory spray painted throughout, giving the same wall colour and wood protection inside and outside the summerhouse. The timber is first treated with a wood preservative to protect against fungal attack. An undercoat is then applied which gives long-term wood protection.

The timber is sprayed with two heavy coats of water-based micro-porous paint which allow the wood to breathe. This maximises the life-span of the timber and ensures minimal maintenance. The timber should not need overpainting for up to seven years.

All windows are double glazed with a 28mm. sealed unit. All opening windows and doors have seals to prevent drafts. The doors have brass handles and a three point locking system.

The roof is manufactured in glass-fibre and is a large, strong, rigid one-piece moulding.

The colour is impregnated and is permanant, the roof cannot leak or rot and has no seams to open in any wind. The roof is made GREY to resemble a traditional lead roof or GREEN that accurately replicates copper in verdigris without years of wait to achieve this beautiful colour.

A vaulted glass-fibre ceiling gives the summerhouse an airy feeling. A minimum of 300 mm. of insulation is installed between the ceiling and roof. A painted redwood finial is mounted on top of the roof.
